Glasgow Airport Attacked

Car Rams Glasgow Airport


A car, apparently on fire, has rammed the main door at Glasgow Airport. The driver and passenger were pulled from the car and then proceeded to fight off the police.

Of course, no assumptions can be made about the religious affiliation of the driver and passengers.

Actually, reports describe the driver as a stocky asian man. Not that stocky asian men can't be muslim, but it does cast your assumption into a bit of doubt.

When we use the term Asian in Scotland, we're usually referring (righly or wrongly) to Pakistan/Bangladesh. My feeling is that the usage of "Asian" in the US more often means the far east?

Yes, precisely.

We'll see, but I do think assumptions are dangerous. I remember all the rampant speculation around the Oklahoma City bombing before it was discovered that it was a crazy white American.

Yes you're right, it's probably one of those militant Presbyterians. Again! However we should remain open to all possibilities. I personally believe that we will discover it was an unfortunate juxtaposition of events involving a spare can of petrol and a discarded fag end.

Well, I quote from tonight's Radio Scotland report in which an eyewitness said "The guy was covered in flames, he's punching a policeman and shouting "Allah, Allah!"".

Many, sadly, don't care, or they think they don't; they think it doesn't matter very much how carefully and soberly the priest presides.

If the Presbyterian Church wants to know how this can happen. . . Then my advice is for them to drag Jesus to the stand and have Him testify.

Then my advice is for them to drag Jesus to the stand and have Him testify. But my guess is that the church is really not interested in what Jesus has to say about this issue even if they could get Jesus on the stand.

There's a bit of insight into the man there, and it jives with what I've read elsewhere. Chester : In January I discovered his blog and emailed him to ask some detailed questions about something I had recently read about Iraqi domestic politics.
