iTunes Spyware
Whilst I think the new mini-store is a reasonably nifty addition to iTunes, there should have been a gigantic novelty-sized notice that it transmits information about your listening to somewhere...

I mean, just so we don't have to suffer the self-righteousness on Boing Boing......

Yeah, I would have liked to have seen that as well. We don't need to give another reason to crow to the anti-corporate lobby over at BoingBoing...

Yeah, their motto seems to be "never attribute to tight deadlines or ignorant managers what you can attribute to right-wing corporate malfeasance".

Actually it only does this when you actually click on the song, and you have the pane open. If the song changes by itself during the course of playing a playlist the pane does not change and no data is transmitted. Also when the pane is closed no data is transmitted. Does not look like spyware to me, just a convenient way to check what music is related to the clicked track.
